How To Fit Install Car Audio Aftermarket Tweeters

A tweeter is used in car audio to create high pitched sounds in music; it has a smaller cone than a woofer because the tweeter doesnt need large cone area, as they are not for bass. If you hear that the tweeters in your car are not delivering high quality sound, the reason why they are not is probably because they are stock tweeters that are factory fitted. Stock tweeters are not meant for sound quality, they are just made for basic sound, simply because they are made from a paper. If you have bought a pair of aftermarket tweeters, this is to replace the stock factory fitted tweeters currently in your car, below are instructions to help you fit and install them into your car.

Installing Tweeter Instructions:

1)Remove the stock tweeter from the cars tweeter mounts or door panels. All car tweeters that i have seen are held in place by screws. So get a Philips head screwdriver and using it, unscrew all the screws that are holding the tweeter. Once you have unscrewed all of the screws, place them in a safe place, a place where they cant get lost, as you will be need them later on.

2)Remove the tweeter from the mount or car door and disconnect the two wires that are connected to the spade terminals, found on the rear of the tweeter.

3)Get your replacement tweeter and connect the wires you disconnected earlier on, matching the polarity correctly on the terminals. The red wire goes onto the positive terminal and the black wire goes into the negative terminal. If you car tweeter is not controlled by a crossover, then you can install a crossover, so the tweeter plays only high pitched sounds and not bass, as bass can destroy your new tweeter. But as an alternative you can solder you can solder a electronic capacitor onto the + terminal, to protect it.

4)Mount the tweeter back into the hole, push the wires back in, all the way in, then replace each screw back into its hole. Then using your screwdriver, screw them all tight.

Apply these four steps for the other tweeter.
