How To Remove Car Head Unit Distortion Increase Sound Quality

Most car head units that are stock, create a distortion sound through the speakers, throughout your car, when you play music at the highest volume level. This is because the internal amplifier inside it cant produce a clean output signal, which leads to distortion, which can also cause damage to the voice coils inside the speakers. Distortion destroys sound quality and speakers, so some tips are below to get rid of it:

1)Every car head unit has adjustable options to increase and decrease bass and treble. Distortion increases when you increase the amount of bass in your music. So decrease the bass to the lowest level and increase the amount of treble. This will reduce the amount of punch and bass you get out of your speakers, but it really helps to get rid of horrible distortion.

2)If your car has factory speakers installed, the cones of them speakers and made of paper. Paper is the weakest material for speakers and makes distortion worse. So upgrade all the speakers in your car to aftermarket speakers. My own advice is to spend more on the front speakers because you are going to be sitting in the front, if youre the driver or passenger. Rear speakers usually get canceled out and the sound from them cant really be noticed.

3)Dont use a car head unit to power the speakers inside your car because they struggle to deliver clean output power, so it will distort at high volume levels. So i recommend you to use a car amplifier, it will produce a better, cleaner distortion free signal and of course more rms power. Hook it up to you car and speakers using a wiring kit and set the gain right, using the SMD DD-1, a great product for sale from Steve Meade, that automatically detects distortion.

4)Dont listen to bass boosted songs, they are just full of distortion!
